A Conservative MP has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of rape.
The parliamentarian was interviewed by police in relation to the claim on Wednesday, according to reports.
He was also said to have been arrested for possession of controlled substances.
It is understood the Tory held ministerial office.
It was reported the allegations do not relate to a separate Tory MP, who is currently on bail in relation to sexual assault claims that he denies.
A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm a man was arrested yesterday morning (25 October) on suspicion of rape and possession of controlled substances.
“He has been released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.”
The Conservative Party declined to comment on a police investigation.
